Simple Programming Optical Inspection System (SPOIS) is a highly versatile product from Global Manufacturing Solutions (GMS), an undisputed leader in low-cost inline automatic optical inspection (AOI) equipment. Based on synthetic modelling (unlike conventional comparator machines), SPOIS can be used for defect inspection after all the three process stages of a conventional SMT line, viz., paste printing, component placement, re-flow soldering. Withan in-built library of over 1000 parts, programming the SPOIS is simple. With a high resolution CCD camera and multi-tier lighting system, several combinations can be achieved for detecting various types of defects, using the Halcon 7.0 image processor.
